Visiting Budapest for the Third Time
Hello peeps! Someone is resurrected again! Wow, quite a long time since my footsteps were found here. I am finally back to share a bit update. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start of 2015! Finally, we are on the second month of the year! Hmmm..I am quite excited because another travel will be commencing in spring season. About the countries, I will share it next time.
The Fisherman’s Bastion, known as Halászbástya in Hungarian language. It is a beautiful terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube. It is located on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. From there, you can have a great view of the city including the Parliament building.
Anyway, It took me awhile to start this post because I was commenting in a travel group in Facebook and at the same time, I am exchanging messages with a friend from the US. One of the members of that travel group was asking which is better to go Prague or Budapest. I have been to Prague twice and also visited Budapest for the third time already.
For me, both cities are really beautiful and are worth to visit when you are in Europe. The first time I stepped on Hungary’s capital was in summer 2011. It was followed in May 2012 when I escorted my friend’s visitors from the United States. It was a fun visit in the city with them.
“In 1987 Budapest was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for the cultural and architectural significance of the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue.”
My third visit there was in December 2013. The main purpose is to experience its Christmas market. It was a cold evening at the market but I enjoyed what I see plus the shopping that I did in the city. I also visited other sights again including the Fishersman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, the Chain Bridge, Buda Castle, Heroes Square and more.
If given the chance to visit Budapest again, I will surely do it. How about you? How did you find Budapest?
Safe travels and take care everyone!
